Billionaire Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, has just sold his mansion in Hunts Point, one of Seattle's most exclusive suburbs, for a record $63 million. The deal comes less than two years after he and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez moved their primary residence to Miami, a city that has become the new epicenter for entrepreneurs, celebrities and investors.
In Bezos' case, according to financial analysts, the change of address could generate an estimated savings of more than $610 million in taxes, simply by ceasing to reside full-time in Washington state.
This decision not only reflects a change of residence, but an increasingly clear trend: Miami continues to consolidate itself as a magnet for global capital and high net worth individuals. Bezos' move is no coincidence, but a strategic move that highlights the tax benefits and unique opportunities offered by Florida's real estate market.
